Salute e Sviluppo always supported children and their communities around the world through programmes that focus on disease treatment and prevention, health and nutrition, education and adolescent development. In line with these objectives, Salute e Sviluppo has set up a long-distance support programme, both collective and individual, registering on the “Long Distance Support list” of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.

What is Long Distance Support?

> Long Distance Support (LDS) first of all is a sign of love. It is a small, great light of hope that you choose to shine into the life of a child who, unfortunately even today, is denied their fundamental rights: FOOD, HEALTH, EDUCATION AND PROTECTION. Your long-distance support will be the hot meal that will allow him to grow up healthy and strong every day; it will be the medical assistance that will take care of him in his time of need; it will be the education that will support his dreams, it will be the guarantee of a future that he cannot have without you.

> Long Distance Support has the wonderful power to change the destiny of two lives, that of the child you choose to support and your own! Your life will be enriched by a bond that will last forever. > For less than 83 euro cents* a day you will donate FOOD, DRINKING WATER, MEDICAL CARE AND EDUCATION to a child living in extreme poverty.

> As soon as you join, your name will be matched with that one of the children of the countries where long-distance support is active.We will send you an information sheet and a photograph of the child you choose to support, as well as a summary of the project in which he or she is involved.
